Will Rest in Arlington

Remains of Capt. John Williams, Killed in 1812, to Be Reinterred.

The remains of Capt. John Williams, of the Marine Corps, who was killed in the East Florida campaign in 1812 and buried in the cemetery at St. Marys, Ga., have been brought to this city for reinterrment in the National Cemetery at Arlington. The transfer of this old hero's bones was made by direction of Gen. Elliott, commandant of the Marine Corps, and was due tot he fact that the cemetery at St. Marys has been abandoned and the grave of Capt. Williams neglected.

The old stone slab which was originally placed over the grave is in a fair state of preservation and will be brought to Arlington and placed over the newly made grave.
