Thomas Jefferson Coolidge
Thomas Jefferson Coolidge (August 26, 1831 – November 17, 1920) was a the great-grandson of Thomas Jefferson.
As a businessman Thomas Jefferson Coolidge owned textile mills, banks and railroads. He managed and later became president of the Amoskeag Mill then the largest textile mill in America, was president of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad and organized the United Fruit Company of which Thomas Jefferson Coolidge Jr. became president. As a Republican he was appointed Ambassador to France on May 12, 1892 by Benjamin Harrison.
